Well, these couple weeks have been pretty crazy and I have been too busy to write any blog posts in the last few days. Some big changes are happening in my life, and I may write about them when all the dust is settled. To say the least, there was one surprise after another in the last 10 days and I’m doing something I didn’t think that I would do so soon. Right now I will just say that I believe that everything is going to work out well for all of us because God is good.

Since I didn’t have time to put together any new content, here are some links to the great blog carnivals I participated in the past week:

Carnival of Rants - There are definitely a lot of weird articles here. I really liked this one about John Edwards. It’s short and sweet.

Carnival of the Vanities - This carnival isn’t as awesome as it used to be. So hmm, I submitted my rant about technical recruiters.

Finance Fiesta – This article on ways to blow a job application by Frugal Zeitgeist reminded me of some of the horrible interviews I had to deal with.

Finally, Broke Grad Student did a Olympics themed Carnival of Personal Finance. My article about not being an debt slave to education was included. I thought the Olympics was fantastic this year and the following were my favorite moments:

- Jason Lezak anchoring the 4×100m relay for the USA men’s team. That was amazing to watch. He was the oldest guy and had the fastest split ever.

- Oksana Chusovitina winning a silver in vault as the oldest female gymnast EVER. This woman’s story is just amazingly inspriring.

- India winning their first individual gold medal ever. The winner is a young hardware engineer named Abhinav Bindra. He just seems so nerdy, and that’s why it’s so cool.

- Chinese badminton player rips off his shirt to show off his funny tattoo. I was watching that game live on nbcolympics. I actually fell over laughing when he ripped off his shirt, but later on I figured out what exactly the words on his back said. That just made it funnier.

- China ending the games with 100 medals, including 51 gold, the most gold medals ever won by China.

That’s it for now. I’ll write more when I find time!

I am pretty lazy in submitting my articles to carnivals, but I did do a few last week. Here they are:

Christian Carnival at Fish and Cans – This is actually a pretty good carnival that I never participated in before. Better late than never.

Carnival of Money Stories at My Good Cents -Some great stories here. I liked this one about 10 lessons a dad taught his kid.

Carnival of Real Estate at Trulia Blog – I was picked as a sparkling pick of the week for my article about the deadbeat politicians. It’s pretty funny, but I used to send my scathing real estate related articles to this carnival and they always rejected it, but I guess the rosy sentiment towards real estate has changed.

Carnival of the Insanities at Doctor Sanity – This carnival always has some funny stuff. I liked #13, which linked to a story that said liberal (and obviously juvenile) San Franciscans are trying to name a waste management plant after President Bush. The stupidity of this is that the job of waste management plants is to clean up waste and toxic stuff, so if they want to say that President Bush is crappy by donning his name on this plant, they deserve a big fat FAIL on their heads like the folks at The Fail Blog.

Another announcement is that I will be hosting The Carnival of Money Stories once again next Tuesday! I should have put up a post earlier but I totally forgot. Anyway, feel free to submit your entries here.

Finally, I wrote an article about Patriotism and Personal Finance on Wise Bread last night. I really enjoyed writing this article so I hope you enjoy reading it, too.

Have a great holiday everyone! Don’t eat too much and drive safely!

Carnival of Personal Finance – I submitted my article about dealing with inflation, and since I wrote that people have been finding The Baglady through searches for stockpiling food. If I had more pantry space I would stockpile more food, too. Yesterday I went to buy a bag of rice and it was twice the cost compared to just 9 months ago. Today Yahoo Finance just ran an article on “investing” in food, too.

Carnival of Money Stories – I submitted my story about living in China, Hawaii, and California. I also liked this story about motivation.

Kids and Money – This is a fairly new carnival and I submitted my article on childhood memories about money.

The Education Carnival – My article about not pushing your kids is included here.

Okay, I’m off to Vegas now for the hubby’s company trip. Today also marks exactly 8 months since we got married so the hubby made reservations at a pretty neat restaurant in Vegas for us. I will write about it once I come back. Have a great weekend everyone!

Hello everyone, welcome to the Carnival of Twenty Something Finances for the week of April 7th, 2008. In this edition we have more than forty articles on a variety of financial subjects that twenty somethings could learn about. Read on for some financial enlightenment!

Editor’s Picks

Investing Man presents 10 Tips On How To Negotiate posted at Wealth Building Lessons. This reminds of my post where I said everyone should haggle. Investing Man’s article expands the idea to all types of negotiation.

Finance Girl presents Childhood Money Memories, Part I posted at Finance Gets Personal. Finance Girl followed my post and wrote about her childhood money memories. There are some great stories here!.

Tip Diva presents Tip Diva | Top Ten Tips – Going Dumpster Diving posted at Tip Diva. This is a pretty interesting list of tips. I haven’t gone dumpster diving, but in the past I have gotten clothes, furniture, and books that were discarded on the side of the street. I am wearing a pair of my neighbor’s unwanted jeans right now.

Sarah presents The cost of graduating where she discusses how expensive a diploma really is! I never got my diploma because I was too lazy to order it. I think it’s still in Sproul Hall somewhere and employers verify everything online these days so I never needed my physical paper diploma.

An account receivable it might be, is not the answer to debt consolidation situation. The solution is learning to spend wisely. This means resisting borrowing a loan of any sort on your credit card. Even if you have a cheap travel insurance, retaining it is the best measure.
