With the economy as bad as it is and postage prices going up and up, there are fewer people entering snail sweeps. I think the most important tip that you didn't mention is to stay organized and don't enter more than the stated amount - even accidently - because you will be disqualified. I've tried staying organized with bookmarking sites and creating a list in Excel - but that was a lot of work. I recently found a site that is free (most sweepstakes sites charge money these days) and it has features that keep me from entering more than the stated amount. It's too long to explain here - but the site is http://www.bigsweeps.com and there is a FAQ section that has help to get you started. There are lots of other sites out there that have lots of spammy sweeps and small prize sweeps - but this one seems to focus on the bigger prizes and they stick with listing reputable companies that you've heard of so that you don't get spammed to death.
