I am also too cheap to do so. @Hunter: Yup, actually I have filed schedule C before when I worked as a contractor. I was able to deduct some of my driving expenses and computer expenses. My blog income is a lot smaller than my former contract income, though. Regarding setting up your blog as a business, it actually isn't necessary to incorporate, register as a business, or get a business license. You just file Schedule C with your federal income taxes, saying that you have a sole proprietorship, and you can deduct expenses (as well as pay taxes on income). This is not to say that there aren't any advantages to registering as a business, but I wanted to offer that information. Be sure to let us know what you decide to do!
