Since the Social Security will be in financial trouble, we will retire later than our parents, so the Social Security will pospone the payment. If you see what is happening in France and Spain, they are doing this. The riots in France are becuase the want to pospone retirement and push it from 60 years old to 62 years old. In Spain they are going to postpone it from 65 to 67 years old. Since we are going to live longer than our parents, the government has to "save" those two years. In the meantime, instead of paying, the Social Security will get more income. What is happening in Europe, will happen in the States. I think that this time you are completely wrong. I agreed with couple comments here. Saving is always a good thing. However,we also need to remember that spending also creat jobs and a strong economy. I think how to balance it is a key.
